As the high school baseball regular season winds down to their precious few innings and teams jockey for playoff seeding, we're going to weigh in on all the stories and issues of the day with plenty more to confabulate about on the Award Winning "On the Sidelines" with Vinny Aceto, Friday, May 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM.
Mike Turo (Monroe Campus HS) visits with us to talk about his milestone 1,000th victory last week and give us a second season baseball appetizer as the regular season comes to a close this week.
We’ll resume our spring football festival with Canarsie HS head coach Mike Camardese as they get set for the Second Annual Alumni Game on Saturday, May 22nd.
Then on Sunday, May 23rd at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium, the 38th Annual Fun City Bowl will take place featuring New York’s Finest v New York’s Bravest. We’ll confer with our favorite football analyst Pete Moog about this intense rivalry. Moog will lend his unique perspective on this yearly get together. Moog is a former all-city lineman at Tottenville and has participated in this game as a player, head coach and organizer and currently is the NYPD’s offensive coordinator.
