After a Great Eight weekend and a Final Four midweek, Hoops Hysteria makes another PSAL basketball playoff marathon trip to March Madness. The lengthy five-month journey on the “Road to the ‘AA’ City Championship” makes its final pit stop, Saturday, at the “World’s Most Famous Arena.” The dance card has been filled and the participants can’t wait to hit the floor. We’ll have our customary news and notes from around town, all this and more when you tune into a “Garden Party” edition of the Award Winning "On the Sidelines" with Vinny Aceto, Friday, March 5, 2010 at 1 PM.
We’ll preview this weekend’s prime time championship clashes as the teams get ready to play on the big stage of the bright lights in the big city at Madison Square Garden. This is basketball heaven with the winners gaining entry to Glens Falls for the chance to claim the State’s top prize. The Madness of March reaches a fever pitch.
Murry Bergtraum, the perennial girls’ title holders, (Lady Blazers having won eleven straight on the trot) returns to the Mecca of the Hardwood for another opportunity to continue their dynasty. Bergtraum (1) meets JFK (3) in a rematch of the 2007 title tilt.  We’ll shoot the breeze with coaches Ed Grezinsky (Bergtraum) and O’Neil Glenn (JFK).
Then we’ll break down the PSAL Boys’ ‘AA’ Finals with Mark Lelinwalla of the NY Daily News as (1) Benjamin Cardozo meets (2) Boys and Girls. We’ll also take you “Inside the Game” and look ahead to the PSAL Boys ‘A’ Basketball quarter-finals game with John Sce (New Utrecht HS) our Class ‘A’ Insider.
If you’re looking to score straight A’s in high school sports, make sure you get to school on time. Class is in session every Friday, at 1:00 PM on Radio New York 91.5 FM your ticket to High School Sports throughout the entire year in New York City.
